Open Question: Can I refi out of my Option ARM even if I am in foreclosure?
Like many of people, I purchased a home that is worth $200,000 less than what I paid for it in 2006. I love my home and have been making the neg am payments to stay current. I have decided to that I'm not going to make payments on a $600K mortgage when the same house is worth $400K now. I have good credit and would like to have my loan balance reduced. It would be the same if I walked away and teh bank had to sell it to someone else. In fact t would be more expensive for the bank since they would have to go through the foreclosure process. There are a ton of loan modification companies out there, but many are saying different things like I need to be in default before the banks will even talke to me. Again, I want to know if I can have the bank reduce my principle balance? more…

But teh house needs work i was going to fix it myself, but I've taken ill and I'm not capable of working on it now. I cant afford a handy man and my credit is shot. Is there such a thing as mortgage forgivness where I can give teh house back? Or can I allow a management company to handle it even in crappy condition? i'm planning to relocate, but i cant pay for this house and a new one too and I dont want foreclosure eiether. more…
